Thailand
Thailand is a country I keep coming back to. I love it for its islands and beaches, but some of my favourite experiences have been hiking through the jungle, exploring by scooter, snorkelling and finding quieter places away from the busiest tourist spots.
I’ve travelled extensively through Southern Thailand, including Koh Lipe, Koh Lanta, Koh Phi Phi, Koh Mook and Krabi.
Here you’ll find all my Thailand travel guides, itineraries and first-hand tips to help you choose where to go and plan your trip.

Koh Lanta
Koh Lanta is a large and varied island with long beaches, road trips, nature, Old Town and plenty of boat trips nearby.
It’s a great choice if you want to explore rather than spend your whole trip in one resort area.
Koh Lipe
A small island in Thailand’s far south known for clear water, beautiful beaches and excellent snorkelling.
Koh Lipe is a great choice if your trip is mainly about the sea, with plenty to explore both from the beach and by boat.
Koh Phi Phi
Koh Phi Phi combines dramatic limestone scenery and famous beaches with some of the best hiking and snorkelling I found in Southern Thailand.
There’s much more to the island than Maya Bay and the busy streets around Tonsai.

Krabi
Krabi is one of the best bases in Southern Thailand for combining beaches, limestone landscapes, hiking and island trips.
From Railay and Ao Nang to Krabi Town and the surrounding nature, there’s plenty here to fill several days.
Koh Mook
Koh Mook is a quieter island with a much more local feel than Thailand’s major tourist destinations.
It’s best known for Emerald Cave, but I especially liked it for its peaceful atmosphere and slower pace.
General Southern Thailand Guides
Southern Thailand is where you’ll find many of the country’s best-known islands, beaches and limestone landscapes.
My guides focus especially on the Andaman Coast, with practical routes for combining places like Koh Lipe, Koh Mook, Koh Lanta, Koh Phi Phi and Krabi.
